New Library Director at Allenstown Public Library

On August 9, 2014, the Allenstown Library bid farewell to our director, Dr. Amber Cushing.  Amber accepted a fantastic opportunity to relocate to Ireland and put her PHD to work as a professor in Dublin.  Amber made many positive additions to the Library and our programs.  We wish Amber all the best in her new position.

On August 14, 2014, after a careful search for just the right candidate, the Trustees hired Deborah (Debbi) Gadwah-Lambert as our new Library Director.  Debbi is a native of Colebrook, NH and  has been the Public Library Director at a  small historical library very similar to ours for the past eleven years in Canaan, VT. For the last two years, she has also been the Media Specialist and Teaching Librarian at Canaan’s K-12 School. She attended college at Granite State College and Drexel University. She is a Past President of the Vermont Library Association and contributing member to the Vermont Early Literacy Initiative. She recently relocated with her daughter to Concord, NH .  “I am very happy to be selected as your new library director,” Debbi says, “and I look forward to working with the Allenstown Public Library’s board, staff and community members to keep the library relevant and effective for the people of Allenstown.”

The Board of Trustees wishes to welcome Debbi to our staff.  We invite patrons to come in and say hello.
