Browse by Appointment Services
We are very excited to announce that we are moving to our next phase of reopening by adding browsing by appointment on Tuesdays 10:30 am – 6:00 pm and Thursdays & Fridays 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, beginning May 7th.
Please note that the library will offer these services for Allenstown Public Library cardholders only unless you will be signing up for a card. The library building will remain closed to the public except by appointment. This service is dependent on many factors including availability of staffing, availability of PPE, and levels of community virus spread. If at any point these conditions change, the library is prepared to roll back services on short notice. The restroom will not be available for public use.
We will continue to offer curbside pickup on Tuesdays for those at high risk, or those who are simply more comfortable with less contact.
Browse By Appointment How-To
1. Contact the Library to schedule a browsing appointment. You can call us at 485-7651, message us through Facebook, or email allenstownlib@comcast.net
Appointments are 20 minutes for one party (which may include multiple members of a household) to browse the main floor of the library.
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment or your browsing time will be limited. We are currently unable to provide browsing of the basement. However, if you need something from downstairs a staff member can always retrieve it for you.
2. Call 485-7651 and let us know you’re here!
Before entering the building, please return all borrowed items directly to the book drop for a 3-day quarantine. Please note that you (and members of your party, ages 3+) will be required to wear a mask while in the building. If you don’t have one, masks will be available for you. We also ask that you use hand sanitizer when you enter the building, which will also be supplied by the library.
